Non Starting 987 Cayman (2007)
My brother has had his 987 2.7 Cayman for about a year now. Very occasionally (3 times in 12 months), it will not start - either from cold or hot. The starter turns, however the car does not want to fire. The car will display the message 'System Error - Visit Workshop' and then a variety of other different error messages. As well as non starting the car also won't open the front or rear hatches, and daft things like the spoiler will rise on its own.
It has been into a specialist who cannot find any errors or faults, including with the battery or the temp sensor(which can apparently cause this). They have recommended unplugging the ECU and disconnecting the battery to reset the ECU, which seemed to do the trick last time after it was left for a while.
However, the car did the same again yesterday, and we tried the usual where the starter turns but the car will not fire. .. This time, there is nothing on the display - no warnings just blank. The other symptoms are the same. The car has now been recovered to a garage again so waiting to see if any faults can be found this time.
Has anyone else had this type of fault or got any ideas what the cause can be?
Cheers!

Mumble. Bad style to post for help and then saying "a number of errors" without saying what those errors are. No?
Any OBD2 error codes? They are stored even when there is no current display.
