LOL Maybe we should wait until they actual build a few 718's before we try to answer that question.

The bane of the 944 forums was always the age old "can I turbo my NA?" Looks like its going to follow me over to this forum. lol

hahah. I once found, on ebay, a seller that made an electronic blow off valve. It was simply a speaker that actuated when the throttle was closed and made a large PFFFFFFFFFFF noise. I always thought that would be awesome to attach to a car alarm so when you armed it and locked the doors, it would go PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF and when you unlocked, PFFFFFFFFFFFFF PFFFFFFFFF

I know next to zip about turbocharging, but is a "bov" the same as a wastegate? In the old days these were just spring operated I think. Aren't the modern ones electronically controlled by various parameters and programming in the ecu? The press release from Porsche describes the wastegate as integrated. Not sure what that means though. Is the point to raise the limit on the device thus increasing boost? or something else? Presume in time there will be mods for these engines, but will they run afoul of EPA rules?

This should be moved to the 718 forum. Nobody is likely to know the answer to that here.
