Check with your dealer on the presence of a flashed ECU. On my 987 they were fine with it as they did various warranty work on my car. ( two water pumps, one catalytic converter, driver's side window tracks, etc ) I did remind them not to flash the ECU because I had already been there.

Default Lightweight Lithium Battery: 40lb weight savings

one easy weight-loss modification for the car is a lightweight lithium battery like a Shorai.. anyone done this on their boxster/cayman platform?

which brand.

all this talk of removing stereos and even AC... but this is a win-win weight loss without compromise.. thoughts?

The Spyder should have blind spot detection standard or at least an option together with a reverse camera that can be switched on even when not in reverse.

I did the clear markers. Next project is paint prep and coating to be done by esoteric detail. I'm doing gyeon MOHs body and wheels. I have decided to skip any paint protection film. I had ppf on my 991 didn't like the look. Prefer beauty of coated and waxed paint even with some imperfections. I'll just have a pro touch up if chips happen.

Then I'm going to get a blendmount and wiretap a radar detector to mirror.

I made the dealer detail the car, my comment was, why would anyone pay 85k for a car that's all scratched up?

They didn't even balk. Just had their guy do it.

Looks amazing.

I'm considering a liquid metal wrap like the 918 Spyder.. Protect the paint and have a cool finish. Got to see/drive a 918 this weekend with this paint and it was amazing (both to drive and look at)

ooooh.. nice photoshop. can you do that with the historic red interior and buckets like mine is prepped? I'm thinking I was going to leave the calipers red as the acid green relates to hybrid power.. i was going to go either red with the wheels or satin black once I get it.

I like where you are going with this... and I agree on the calipers. Make sure the red matches the red interior too! (which is a deeper red). Similar to this Cream 987.2 Spyder:

one thing about a detuned 3.8....

It should last for 25 years of 3 season weekend driving... in 2040 I will be 77 years old.

I would suggest a vigorous weight training schedule so that at age 77 you can still get in and out of the car. :-)
