Is there any difference with the current seats and the ones built a few years ago?

Seems this would impact the cars with the buckets even more, in a good way.

Spyders with Buckets and Manual are always worth a premium.

Friends don't let friends buy a Spyder with Sport Seats.

GT2 Sport buckets cost ~$9000 and weigh 39lbs each...?!

Recaro Pole Position ~$1600 and weigh only 15.4lbs each.

You have to *really* want that Porsche logo...

No, the Buckets are weighed with the side mounts and sliders ready to bolt on.
The Recaros with aluminum side mounts and steel sliders weigh ~26lb. (what I run)
Haven't weighed the steel side mount Recaros but believe it's about 5lb. more or 31lb.
The 8lb diff. at that point is mostly the Bucket airbag, hinge mechanism and slightly more padding.

Bought the last GT2 seat Suncoast had a few months ago for my new 14 Cayman S. Single drivers, cloth. $2900. I feel better now. They do fit like a glove and look "integrated" in the car. I love them.

I cannot find them on the site. All I see is leather...

I'll keep poking around.

On the alcantara inserts; I bought a Cayman R with full leather buckets. The inserts pop right out (they are held in with velcro). I took them to a reputable upholstery shop in the Bay Are for an alcantara re-cover. Turned out perfect and the cost was less than $500.

Cheers,

MW

Which shop in the Bay area did you use? I had mine sent all the way to Washington state because I didn't know anybody around here

I just purchased a 2009 C4S with 11,000 miles with the Black Sport Bucket Seats. I love the seats for driving, and I know I will miss them if I ever track the car, but my wife hates the seats, so happy wife, happy life. And to be honest, getting in and out of the car is a pain for me too.. Yeah, yeah, I could lose a couple of pounds, but what fun would that be.

These seats are like brand new seats - Pristine! The previous owner babied this car - Can't find a scratch on it.. Knock on wood, let's hope I can keep it that way... Has me rethinking driving the car in the winter with the salt and sand all over the roads. I may drive it until the first snow fall, and that is it! Let's hope for a snowless winter here.

My car has Full Leather, so I want to get seats that match the rest of the car (same color thread).

If you are still looking for the Sport Bucket seats, let me know - I live on Long Island.
