if you insist upon "Porsche" seats, get ready to puke; http://www.suncoastparts.com/categor...eriorseat.html

Maybe some nice Recaros in the aftermarket will work...

Crazy money to get the seats in the car, especially if you go for the Alcantara Interior to match the standard Spyder.

My parents are visiting and I took them out for a ride in the car and they both commented on the seats. I said "they better be nice considering they cost $7K". They thought I was joking until I showed them on the Suncoast website.

Joe if you end up going the dealer route you should definitely watch for the ocassinal coupon that gives you 15% off parts/accessories.

Yeah, $10k (seats+alcantara inserts) to get the original seats back into a car that came STANDARD with them is crazy. That's why I'm hoping for an alternative solution. I really would like to keep this car as OEM as possible, which is why I'm trying to look for alternatives.

My backup plan is to pony up the 7k, and then get aftermarket alcantara inserts. No way i'm paying 3k for seat covers

Good news guys, I followed up on Afshin's lead and corresponded with Clinton M3. He said it was Porsche Danbury, CT that did the swap before. I just talked to their service department and they just confirmed to me that to swap out carbon buckets to sport seats is a straight forward 4 bolt off and reconnect harness affair. They confirm that you would need to replace with plain sport seats, and the heated sports would not be able to be heated.

And now you can't even buy them from Porsche? Suncoast doesn't have them?

There's an issue with the new sport buckets to be used in the new GT3 that they didn't get them certified in the US or something so it's possible the existing stock of old sport buckets got sold out and Porsche's waiting on certification before they can sell the new version... Which will hopefully fit our Spyders as I'm int he same position.

Sport buckets are still available for purchase. There was a supply issue, so sun coast ran out of them. Isringhausen is still selling them and suncoast will when more arrive
