silver wheels are much better than black wheels on any boxter spyder. the slenderness of the spokes is lost in black.

Hmmm...we are just about to put in a factory order for a 2011 Spyder - platinum silver with black wheels. Hard to find any good pictures though.....

Absolutely love the black wheels with colored crests on the white, it really blends well with the black Porsche letters and interior.

Just a follow-up on aussie jimmy's comment - I think the black wheels make the car look shorter and it becomes less refined, more aggressive in its stance. With that said though, I can easily see a spare set of track wheels and tires (Michelin Sport Cup) in black but from a design perspective I think the lines of the car are enhanced when the wheels are silver. It looks longer and sleeker. I've attached a picture from one of the early test drive publications. It should give you a good comparison to the one above. I put them side by side in Powerpoint but couldn't figure out how to save it as a jpeg. Also, you may have already seen them but there are a couple of test drive videos out there with both the silver and black wheels which may give you an additional perspective. My $.02.

These photos show the black wheels the best but based on the few I've seen (from other angles), the black wheels tend to "disappear" - which is a pity given the design of the Spyder wheels.
