I've got a friend who wants to make an offer on a new, in dealer inventory, '07 Boxster (base, not S) and has sought my advice on what the market is and how much to pay. I'm too removed from this particular market myself, so please help me out.

Particulars:

9Q Meteor Grey Metallic
PPB Preferred Package Plus
680 Bose Surround Sound System
P15 Power Seat Package
P74 Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package
P12 Self-Dim Mirrors and Rain Sensor
692 Remote CD Changer
342 Heated Front Seats
446 Wheel Caps w/Colored Porsche Crest

MSRP $57,400. As best we can tell dealer invoice is about $48,800. A hefty $8,600 spread.

What should my friend pay for this car (final price) based on the current market and what would your initial offer be?

Thanks, Andy

you should be able to purchase that car for around $51,000 . any dealer in this area (s.florida) would take that deal . i dont know your market , but here there are three big P-car dealers and each one will do what it takes to beat the other one . I recently purchased an '07 non S for 13% off of the msrp .

Good luck if it's at Sunset in Beaverton. You may have better luck in Bend. Or you could have him go to Walter's in Riverside, Ca and ship the car up like I did.
