Default Porsche 992 and 981S side by side quick comparison

I saw my first Porsche 992 on the road over the weekend and stopped to do a quick side by side comparison of my 981BS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug7j...ature=youtu.be

Just thought i would share, like the 992 wider hips and the rear end of the car. Amazing how a new Porsche makes other models look dated, although the 992 is a very wide car now.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing!

No dealerships in my state so I'm driving five hours (one way) to shop the Macan and Cayenne for my wife next month. Really hope they have a 992 on the floor by then.

That 981 is so much better looking than that 992. The big, busy butt of the 992 may be more 'modern', whatever that means, but it certainly isn't better.

The creases on the 992 hood are a throwback to the G body cars 1974-1989. They really jumped out at me when I saw my first 992 and not in a good way.

I feel the same way but am hoping to feel differently after seeing one in person. Crossing my fingers that will be late next month.

Strange compare.

I can see the 718 to 981

or

the 992 to the 991

but this is like comparing a 73 911s to a 914 2.0 in my mind.

Call me partial but IMHO the 987's have the best hips

987s have very round and flowing curves. It's the one element Porsche screwed up on the 981 by flattening the tops of the curves. Why? The other element was 20" wheels with tiny brake discs for the S and GTS. Looks ridiculous. PCCB solved it a little.

I don't own one, but the 987.2 Cayman S could go down as my all-time favorite Porsche design.

I like the 987 Cayman too. Just bought a 981 Boxster for the wife but if I were going to buy a car for just myself I would go with a Cayman with a manual transmission.

IMO, the 987 and 981 cars are the best looking Porsche's made so far.
