@Marine Blue Glad you like the stripes. I am really glad I went through with it.
For your other question, yes. I've got one eye on the classifieds in case some R springs become available. That extra 10mm would look perfect I think. For now I will enjoy the ground clearance!

Another thumbs up for the stripe. It's the subtlety that makes it! Looks great

2 Year Update
Overall loving the car!
Even though I really enjoyed the suspension performance of the PASM + DSC controller, I wanted to lower the ride height a bit. So, I found some Eibach lowering springs and threw them on along with some 7mm wheel spacers.

BAM - the lower ride height and wider stance really made the car look so much better to me. Fell in love with it all over again. Even appreciated the lower CG in corners.
Unfortunately, the ride worsened a bit with the new springs, and lost some turn in response also. I believe it's due to the progressive spring rate vs linear rate OE springs. I think Cayman R springs may be a better option.

So after driving on that for a couple thousand miles I found some Ohlins R&T coilovers and pulled the trigger!
Decided to throw them on while performing the 40k service. Only 3k miles in the last year, the shame.

Now the car sits a bit lower than the Eibach setup, but I really like the new look! The Ohlins come with 400 lb/in springs up front and 458 lb/in in the back. That is nearly double the factory rates! Luckily, the car still rides pretty well when set at 12 clicks from full stiff, though not as street friendly as stock. I still love the feel of the car, and have been driving it almost daily.

Cornering is now phenomenal. I feel that the front end has more grip and the the weight transfer is much more controlled vs before. I could see this setup working awesome on the racetrack, and I plan to revisit Laguna in 2021 to confirm it.

Spring rates are still a bit too high for DD use in my opinion, and I'm going to play around with lighter rates next year. I've run the ride frequency calcs, and if I did 314/400 rates, I'd be right around 2.0 Hz Fr and Rr. You could also do 343/400 which some shops recommend on these dampers.
I've also switched back to the factory wheels, as I'm moving the HREs in favor of some lightweight 18s. (Figured the 2nd set of wheels should be lighter!)

Natural Frequency info:
Stock 1.5Hz F / 1.6 Hz R
Ohlins 2.2 Hz F / 2.2 Hz R

Wow beautiful Cayman ! Love the stance on the car. I see you removed the HRE wheels - do they weigh more than the factory 19" rims ? Any idea how much the factory rims weigh ?

Thank you! Yes the HREs, while quite light, weigh a tad more than the factory Cayman R wheels. (Porsche's lightest 19s)
Here are the weights I've found:
CR Front 21.3 / Rear 23.3 lb
HRE Front 22 / Rear 24 lb
I have been eyeing some Titan7 forged wheels that could save 3-4 lbs per wheel!

Gorgeous car! You’ve made some really great upgrades as well. Since you switched to the Ohlin’s, what’s your plan for the DSC controller? Would you be interested in selling it? Do you also have the 3-axis accelerometer?

Thanks! I'm still hanging onto the DSC module for now. If I ever decide to put PASM back, I will need it!
As for the accelerometer, my car did not require it.

Thanks for the update and comparison commentary. I like FB, but there's just so much good info in these longer format build threads.

In this photo, did you have the 7mm spacers still installed with the factory wheels? Looks like they may be even thicker spacers... the ride height/stance is perfect.

No problem! I like perusing Rennlist just for that reason.
Yep, that photo has 7mm all around. I really thought the HRE offset +7 was perfect, as they are a touch wider. Still love these wheels more though!

MXA: Hello . Separated by the flyover land (I'm on other coast) and 50 cars on the badge . My chief complaint is about brake dust, otherwise a lot of smiles like you. So I'm considering the PCCBs and would like to know your assessment re dust on your wheels? Anything else you care to add re brakes?

Hello Steve! I really like having the PCCB. At first I was nervous about their cost, but not today. Brake dust is very low compared to Standard brakes, but still some dust. At times, PCCB will make light squeak noises also.
They last a very long time! Rear brakes look new at 40k miles. Front pads I replaced and expect them to last another 40k.
If I ever completely damage a PCCB disc, I know I can put Girodisc Steel discs on for reasonable costs, and maintain the nice 350mm size.

So I figured I should update this thread. I sold it in late 2021. Recently, I inquired to repurchase this car from the buyer but was informed that it is now TOTALED! 😢
I have yet to see another 987 with buckets and ceramics come for sale since mine.
RIP #209

Uhhhhh.....those rear tires are a bit bald and were just about ready to delaminate. Yikes.
