is there a way to enhance the sound of a flat 6 engine w/o changing the unique sound?

If I am understanding you, you just want more of the flat six sound? There is a way to do that, get 200 cell headers or race headers. It will make the same noise but louder and scream at the high RPMS

Check with Gert at Carnewal in Belgium. They have modified a stock muffler to give a more robust sound. (GT Exhaust)
Their US vendor in Cantrell Motor Sport. http://www.carnewal.com/products/987...man-R-mufflers

It seems that better results can be achieved on 987.1

Not a terrible job, I did headers in 2 hours or so on jack stands. No welding needed. You'll need either a tune or catted o2 sensors to avoid a check engine light if you care about that. Tune adds even more power.

excellent! that's what I wanted to hear. I think I'll put race headers in but keep the stock exhaust.
any suggestions for racing headers? is it easy to install / uninstall headers like stock systems? no welding or anything necessary right? (for the 981s that is). im planning on taking it to the shop to have it done but just wanted to know how it gets installed.
thanks my friends.

Fabspeed is pleased to offer their "improved performance" exhaust systems but specifically state that their "cats" are not (CARB) certified in California and may affect registration renewal. Of course, if your car is only used on the track, and never on the street, that's another story.........
