Big 991.2 GT3 Spyder (Speedster)... concept
For those in front row seats with cash in hand for some unobtainium... Looks very very nice...

Okay, okay, I'll bite. I think it looks terrible. Not because of the retro details or the paint scheme, but because of the incongruous combination of the big rear engine butt and the streamliner. The resulting double hump look just feels wrong. Granted, it doesn't look as horrible as the earlier Speedsters, but IMO streamliner just doesn't work on a 911. It would look so much better if they can move some engine components around to get rid of the hump and allow the streamline to extend all the way to the tail lights, just like in the Spyder. Problem is it's no longer a parts bin exercise.

As soon as I saw it I called my broker and told him he needs to work double time so unattainium becomes attainium!!! Love it!!

I like it but would LOVE that treatment on a 718/981 Spyder

Coming to this late. I haven't read the press release or the media package yet, but isn't this basically a GT3 Touring cabrio with Speedster styling cues? If so, does anyone here feel like this waters down the GT3 brand?
Personally, I would cringe to see a convertible GT3. GT3 signifies pure motorsport in my mind -- always has and I hope it always will. I want the GT3 to remain hard core. I don't want to ever see a GT3 Cayenne and don't feel great about a GT3 Speedster styling exercise, if that's what this is.
Porsche, please don't go down the same path as BMW did with the M Division. Please don't slap a GT badge on everything under the sun. Let GT remain true to its motorsports roots!

Based on what Whoopsy said, the production version will be completely watered down from the concept.
Production will not get:
-Chopped Windshield
-Center Mounted Gas Cap
-Retro Mirrors
-Wheels
Porsche stated Production version won't debut until 2019!!!

In the pictures it looks better than the 997 Speedster, I’ll wait until I see one in person before I comment on appearance.
I’m not surprised it will be watered down, none of the “extras” come across on any other car and to be honest they look a bit out of place on a modern car. I’m sure they’ll use silver paint on the plastic parts instead.
I’ve heard that all the cars are already sold out, but maybe misinformation?
Like others I would take a GT3 Touring over this any day, it’s just more what I’m after from a Porsche.

VIP’s will collect them up, and my estimate ADM will be 100k of better .......just compare to the new RS which is 50k plus and it’s an RS. I will drive my Spyder and see how these games play out for a year, and pick up a treat once all the dust settles.
