how to remove engine cover porsche 718 cayman 982
How is the engine cover removed on the Porsche 718 Cayman. I want to disconnect the sound actuator, which causes engine droning when in Sport or Sport+. Thanks for any pixs or explanations!

Not sure if is it substantially different than 981? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=czInFGZWo84
One thing i would advise that the video doesnt is removing the left and right upper rear trim panels (they pull out) and the left/right 'shelf' right next to the rear glass (one bolt per side, slides forward then up). Again, may or may not be the same. When I first did it took me about an hour...now I can have the engine access panel off in about 20 min flat. Finally, be mindful of the clear and black plastic 'cap' pieces that fall off routinely as you take this apart. Good luck! -Dom

I installed the BMC Air filter so I already went through this.
It's nearly identical to the 981 (described in the video) - all of the parts are in the same place, but shaped a little different.
I listed tools I used (and recommendations) in my post.

Did this today on a 718 GT4. What a massive pain. The videos helped a lot, so thank you, the only thing missing is that you’ll need a very short T30 in order to get the two torx bolts closest to the interior brace at the back of the cockpit. There’s not much room to get a ratchet in there. I had to use an Allen key that was close enough in size.

No need to remove the engine cover to disable the fake sound. Just pull the fuse from the right rear fuse panel.
