Default Turbo my Cayman GTS?

Recently have been obsessed with the thought of turbocharging my 981 Cayman GTS. Its brand new, only got 4k miles on it. But i just keep finding it being slow
its an amazing car, great sounds, great chassis, turns like a beast. But i just want more pulls and a bit more straightline performance.

Anyone here has turbo or supercharged their 981 before?
What are some of my options?
Is it even remotely reliable? I'm pretty sure ill be voiding my warranty if i do it. Which i REAALLLLYY shouldn't do...but...might be one of those stupid impulse things...it sounds stupid. I know it would be stupid. Yet, i still really want to do it.

Take a look at TPC Racing. The best advice I think is to buy a factory turbo, e.g., 718S. The whole point of the 981 is that it's not a turbo. Straight line performance in a Porsche is affected by the speed you carry coming out of curves. There is nothing slow about a 981 GTS if you know how to drive it.

I know, i didnt go with the 718 although i had the option, because i still wanted the flat 6 sound. I did have money for a 911, but the extra weight just makes it go similarly. So now im wondering if i can just turbo charge this NA flat 6, still get even if half the high rev sounds, and still have more speed. The car right now isnt necessarily slow at all. But i could use more. Right now where im at, selling the car or trading the car is just a lot of value destruction.

if you turbo the981 you will lose most of the sound (turbo runs off the exhaust).

Reasons for turbo'ing a 981 GTS:
  1. Increased power

Reasons for not turbo'ing a 981 GTS:
  1. Primary character of the GTS will be lost.
  2. GTS' hold their value quite well. Significant modifications, such as this, will hurt resale.
  3. The exhaust note will sound muffled.
  4. More to go mechanically wrong + increased stress on motor/drivetrain.

Since you're asking for advice, I would NOT turbo a GTS. I would either look at the new (or wait on a used) 718 Cayman S or choose a different make and/or model that is already turbocharged for around the same money (e.g., 997 Turbo).

I've known a couple people who added turbos to Cayman engines.
The biggest issue is the ECU software. One guy I know could barely get one track session done without some error or issue. No way I would even think about it!!

Add a 3.8l engine or a Corvette engine if you must. Better yet, take it to a track and you will discover it is not a slow car. (I mean a real track with corners and such, not a drag strip)

It's something I thought about with my 987.2 BS. In the end decided against because of potential reliability issues, ongoing expense etc. I don't want to drive a car worrying if I'm damaging it or it's going to throw a code or something.

I like these guys:

I don't see a Caymen yet but they seem to get solid results.

DO NOT DO IT!!!
unless you have a spare car, lots of time and $20k to throw away!
i had to replace the engine after all was said and done.

I was going to ask how you drive the car because the RPM range makes a huge difference when it comes to power/acceleration. Keeping it geared above 3500 RPM and holding the gear to redline will give you neck snapping acceleration. I was out yesterday on a two lane road and when I needed to pass a car I just geared down and mashed the throttle. In no time I was in triple digit territory and still pulling hard.

If that is still not enough my advice would be to sell the GTS and buy a 997 TT, that will give you the crazy acceleration but you'll need to add an exhaust to get the proper sound.
