Of course it's all about the power difference. Why do you think Porsche had to change the 911 RSR to mid-engine configuration? Put the same tires and same power on a Cayman, and it'd walk all over a 911 everywhere, while feeling better balanced. Simple physics man. And Porsche just proved it with the new RSR. But yes, if you leave both stock (narrower tires and less power), a 911S+ outperforms any 981. Porsche wouldn't let their outdated prodigal son be outperformed by the superior 981 platform. Ha ha.

Considering that the 981 weighs less than the 991 and even in GTS trim, Porsche still detuned it 10 hp...

So i have never driven a base 991. All of this comparison of 991S or 991.2S to 981 while interesting brings a power difference into the equation...

How does a base 991.1 compare to a 981GTS in performance stats. These 2 cars are the closest comparison and besides wider tires on 911 would really show how the engine layout affects performance. (6mt to 6mt or PDK to PDK doesnt really matter as long as the same)
