Default Egan's 2011 Boxster Spyder

I purchased my 2011 Boxster Spyder from the original owner on February 18, 2017. 25K miles and in excellent shape. Thanks to everyone who helped me through the process of research and negotiation!

I'm going to use this thread to document my modifications and outings.

The original owner ordered it with Carrera S II wheels in guards red and debadged. Those are the first things to fix.

Here she was before I got her:

I got a set of correct wheels powdercoated flat black from @mpotvin and the tires came in yesterday. I'll post the red wheels up for sale after I clean them up.

I went with 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 ties. I forgot how much I hate wheel bolts.

Stripes and rear emblem are due in from UPS today. Oil change and alignment due up next.

Looking better:

Colors are a matter of taste, but owning a white 987 Spyder with black wheels myself, I sure approve of the changes you have made. I bet the buyer of your red wheels is likely to repaint them!

I don't hate wheel bolts but the stock units can get ratty looking quickly. I contacted the factory direct and bought what I was told was the last set of these to fit my Spyder. They weren't cheap but they are titanium and superb quality and anti theft my design.

Nice upgrades, looking forward to seeing future installments.

I also changed out the bolts to titanium, I bought these https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...lug-bolts.html

Nice! I was looking at this car awhile back. The red wheels needed to go, after decals it should be a stunner.

I'm liking it. Still getting used to the clutch from a start. Love the steering feedback. Love the exhaust note too (when I remember to hit the damn button!). I think I need some sort of backup camera though. Can't wait to get it detailed, stripes and emblem put on, and run around with the top off.

I know everyone goes gaga for the LWB's, but these seats are nice. My track days have been over for a few years (other hobbies/priorities) so these work just fine for me. We'll see if I slide around once I get it on the backroads - that's always my concern with leather.

I need to read the manual more, but most things have been intuitive - like having the system learn the new wheels for the TPMS or syncing my phone to the CDR30. The only thing I haven't figured out a use for is the chrono.

Congrats on finding a great spyder..... Chrono is pretty useless without PDK!

Chrono is useless indeed. Backup camera a valuable add on.

I replaced my CDR with a pioneer app radio, upgraded speakers and backup camera. This setup gives you improved sound, iphone nav, spotify and phone.

Apparently there is a great source for Porsche audio replacements at: https://cai-store.com/

His shop is less than 15 minutes from my home.

Awesome car Egan, congratulations! And those wheels look great! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you along with the modifications you have planned. Biggest restriction point on these cars are the factory headers. Replacing them frees up a good bit of power and nicely accentuates the factory PSE, it was my favorite exhaust combination on my car.

Thanks. Would love to do headers, but I live in Kalifornia...
