Default Need help with wheel choice on 718 CS build

I'm trying to finalize my 718 Cayman S build and would love to get some feedback on choice of wheel finishes. I can't decide which of the 3 choices I like best with the Guards Red exterior.

They are in order of appearance: Platinum Satin, Satin Black and Silver.

Never an easy call, Sam. For what it's worth, my order of preference is silver, then satin, and then black.

One other thing: Yes, silver will show brake dust more, but cleaning this particular wheel will be a piece of cake. The spokes are fairly spread out so this isn't one of those intricate wheel designs where you're going to bust up your fingers trying to get into nooks, crannies and crevices come cleaning time. My vote is "old school" silver. With the money saved on the wheel finish, put that toward some other option you're on the fence about

Good luck with your build!

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have had these wheels on other pcars and they are very easy to clean. I'm more worried about getting the best "look" rather than cost. I've built the car at least a 100 times with different colors and options. I'm 99% sure about the Guards Red, I know it's an "old school" color but I want a "sports car" color no greys, white or black although all of those colors look good on the car. Saphire blue is probably my second choice, yellow is nice but severely limits the resale value and I don't want to spend extra for Lava Orange or Miami Blue.

+1
Although I'd go as far as to say, Silver - yes, satin - if you must, black - not for me.

I like the satin very much, (and does hide the dust quite well) then silver. I could never do the black.

Just to confuse the issue further here are some pictures of the rear of the car.
The side most other drivers will be seeing it from

I prefer the platinum. I think it compliments both the red and the black grills, tinted tail lights and rear diffuser well. The black wheels lose their detail. Silver is my second choice. Most importantly, get what you like. Happy hunting!

I've seen a couple guards 911 with the satin in person and thought it looked very good. 2nd would be silver last would be black unless I was adding some black vinyl stripping of some sort to compliment the black wheels.

To me platinum satin wheels look killer with the red.

Silver would be second.

That's a good idea and I like the Forgelines. I'm planning on buying a second set of 19" wheels anyway to use with RE-71R track/AX tires.

I just went through this myself with my Boxster order--same wheels as you. I went Silver, however, I do think the Platinum Satin looks nice with the Guards Red. Black--absolutely not!

I ordered the Boxster S wheels for my 718 Cayman. Don't see many with these but I like the look of them. I plan to get a set of Forgelines too.
