Default Spyder numbers

Anyone hear how many Spyders are being produced?
The gt4 guys seem to have hopes there will be another fall allocation but I wonder if any more spyders will be released since it's not as hot at the GT4.

Unrelated : why dosent the Spyder ( 987 and 981) get a separate forum like the gt4?

If all else fails, we can organize a count here on the forum by asking people to count off when their cars arrive. Hopefully, I have less than 60 days to wait!

A count on Rennlist will not come close to how many cars are sold.

^Yes, but we can extrapolate... and Vins also give a clue so it seems.

490 in the US (according to Porsche NA). I believe 750 worldwide is what the dealership said when I bought my Spyder.

2486 Spyders 981 version produced worldwide so far. Not sure what the next allocation will hold.

Less than 2000 987.2 Spyders produced worldwide, no new allocations

US Figures

987.2 Spyder - 891
981.1 Spyder - ??

Not sure if they're building any more of the 981, I thought production was over.

I've yet to see a final tally for North American production, but I think we all agree it's somewhere roughly between 800 - 1,000 cars, and certainly more than 490 cars. Perhaps you can expound further on the PCNA source that provided this figure

750 cars for worldwide production also seems to be off the mark. 2,486 is reported to be the correct worldwide production figure for 981 Spyders based on info from Porsche AG.

Correcting my earlier post for the 987.2 Spyder

MY2011
First VIN: WP0CB2A81BS745001
Last VIN: WP0CB2A80BS745751

750 MY2011 units to North America

MY2012
First VIN: WP0CB2A86CS745061
My VIN: XXXXXXXXXXX745195 (only 7 built after mine)
Last VIN: WP0CB2A89CS745202

141 MY2012 units to North America

So, confirmed total for North American Spyders is 891 units

Anyone remember how long it took to get final North America production numbers on the 987 Spyder? Was it shortly after production stopped, or were those numbers not released until some time later? Was the number released by PCNA in some kind of internal document or public announcement?

Trying to draw an analogy on when and how we can expect to learn of the final 981 Spyder tally for North America.

Based on the "981 Spyder Database" from s2ktaxi, the latest Porsche Build Sheets and Carfax, my calculation lists 839 known 981 Spyders for North America so far.
The last known VIN (...2910) seems to be just sold at Porsche of Stevens Creek (CA) and no further Spyder seems to be built so far...
If anyone has good contacts to Porsche NA, perhaps this will reveal the official numbers for NA (perhaps split for USA and Canada...).
