With the power this thing makes, all I can do is keep my foot on it.

Nice car Joe, one of my fav colours.
In test drove the FRS about 6mo and had similar observations. I love the platform, but waiting to see what Toyota does next in terms of power. It is on the top of my watch list.
Are you planning mods?
One of the reasons i was looking at the FRS was to have a track car so I do not beat up the Spyder as often. But after driving the FRS, with the lack of power, i find it more fun as a daily driver. Now, i think the Spyder is a better track car and i don't know what to do..have you had a chance to track the brz, how does it compare to the spyder?

The BRZ is perfect as a a DD. Spyder is a better car in all aspects, including as a track car. If you want speed/lap times/fun, stick with the spyder for the track. If you want fun and don't care about speed or lap times, BRZ/FRS is an option. I'm taking the BRZ to Laguna Seca in march. I'm expecting to be passed by everyone, but I'm hoping the car will teach me something about car control at slower speeds. Hopefully that will translate into quicker times in my spyder as a result.

Is a higher hp version of FRS more likely than BRZ? Toyota doesn't have a halo sports car that they have to protect unlike Subaru. I have a feeling Subaru is going to play the same game that Porsche does in protecting the 911.

BTW, I tested out the brake master cylinder theory on my spyder just now. There definitely is some motion across the firewall when you slam on the brakes. Not as much as with the BRZ, but there is motion, nonetheless. Perhaps there is something to these master cylinder braces...
(steve, I forgot to reference your brake booster part number against mine )

My prediction is that it will be unveiled in 2 years and for sale in 3.

The interest is high and availability is so low right now, I just can't see them coming out with a new model one year after the car was introduced. If I'm wrong, great, because I'm going to be first in line to get one.
Yeah, forced induction on the track is just not a great combo. Increased complexity to allow failure, and increased heat. I'm not a fan of turbos anymore like I used to be. I hope the STi BRZ says NA.

Quick update. The car is painfully slow in a straight line, and the tires don't grip worth a damn. Despite this, when you start to drive the car hard while entering and exiting corners, it is FUN. The driving dynamics are excellent, and the concept of less grip to allow more slip angle at slower speeds is neat. As as a DD, the car is perfect for me. We'll see what I think of it at the track after I get passed by everyone.
Here's a shot next to the spyder:
