We offer a sound valve sport muffler for the 987.2, so that you can choose the sound level you prefer at any given time....Please call, email or PM for details.

Now I'm even more skeptical about supposed power gains on these exhausts. I've always thought it was mostly placebo effect.
The good news is, that many of us with a gen 2 aftermarket system, but haven't changed manifold for headers, can now do that to eliminate 1 cat, to get more power? And more sound?

I was wondering the same thing. If I changed out the headers to eliminate the secondary cats I wonder how much more power and exhaust music I would gain.

Hmmm

Since this thread has been brought back from the dead, yes the headers are the no brainer upgrade for a PSE car and either enhance or eliminate the Primary catalytic converters on the 986.2, 987, and 981 Boxster/Cayman. They are also the most restricted component on the car and offer the most performance gains. But, you already know this as we have spoken in length about it this year lol

Default More cow-bell...

That's the route I may go - replace the headers and leave the PSE. As for the PSE, the sound is actually pretty good, but like Afshin would like it louder. I think the headers may achieve that. More cow-bell! (for those of you that know the SNL skit with Will Ferrell)

Here is a sample of Fabspeeds race headers and stock PSE exhaust on my GT4.
It sounds even better at higher RPM's.
Enjoy!!
