I don't know if these DIY threads on RL would be of any help whatsoever (and you probably already looked at them) as neither one pertains to a Boxster and both are for those moving from traditional openers to the cloth pulls -- not the other way around. Still, I offer them in case you can "work backwards" from these and/or on the off-chance there is some commonality between 997 door panels and Boxster door panels (of which I haven't a clue).

Always a bummer and hugely frustrating when you get half-way into a project and then reach a roadblock you can't seem to bypass.

Thank you. Those are definitely different from the part numbers I found on the various websites. So I'm stuck. Dammit.

I learned something! Not all is lost. I can remove a door panel in under 5 minutes now. I had to do it twice because I forgot to hook up the door pull cable.

Just out of curiosity, how did you access that parts catalog? Is it public? Sure is more accurate than the one I've been using on the Sonnen (and other) website.

No problem!
Parts catalogs are located here: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/porscheservice/serviceandorgininalparts/
They just uploaded a newer version. I would save a copy, because it was offline for a while (more thank likely updates).
Not sure what they updated.
Its a great resource though... enjoy!

Those DIY's are for an earlier model for which Porsche sold the trim plate separately. They don't offer the plate separately in the 981 and that's where the stone wall is. The (what should be) $20 plastic plate only comes as part of the $2500 door panel. F**k.
