I've got 15 track days on my 718 S with steel brakes. The stock pads lasted 6 and the Pagid Yellows lasted 9. Rotors lasted 15. The stock pads aren't too bad, no fade and easier on the rotors than the Pagid's. The Pagid's did brake a bit stronger. Some of my corner entry speeds were over 140 mph. My outings were from 15 to 25 minutes each.

The biggest thing to replace in a steel system is pads, easily, but that's true of pretty much all cars. Pads that can handle 1000+F and work well cold/don't squeal pretty much don't exist, so people with significant track experience that drive hard on track universally get Pagid/PFC/etc. pads regardless of the make/model of the car. Not a big deal. The fluid Porsche uses isn't bad, but Motul 600 or similar is a good use of $30-$40.
