I agree wholeheartedly. Spent a year or so listening to people complain about the sound of the 718. Then I heard my first performance Subarus earlier this year when I started doing autocross in my Miata. I thought the Subarus had a unique sound and I found it quite pleasing. Made me even more confused as to the rabid hatred of the sound of the 718. Then I rented a 718 Boxster S for a weekend. Didn't sound like those Subarus at all. It was quite different. I didn't like it at all. So I bought a 981 Boxster GTS*.

*Crapsnacks. I need to change my username. Had planned to buy a Cayman S but once I heard the 981 exhaust note I knew I had to have a Boxster so I could hear it in all its glory with the top down.
