The standard wheel and shift lever were in alcantara. You could get both in leather as a no cost option on the 981 Spyder (option code 878).

I dig alcantara, but some don't so for them this was a welcome option and it looks great in the killer interior photos Lapis has posted above.

^^^^^^ According to the RL Spyder Database, out of the approx. 830 Spyders made for North America, 367 of them came with option 878 (roughly 44%).

Taking this "interior" picture thread to the extreme, here are some cool cutaway photos which allow you to peek at the innards.

I think these images are pretty obscure. Judging by the seats, side markers, and language, it's probably safe to conclude they came from a foreign press kit. I'm not aware of any such cutaway photos that appeared in Porsche's press materials for North America.
