Doesn't hurt and shop will likely reduce their standard fee.

Search around where the car is located for a good Indy Porsche or Motorsports shop (and obtain references or recommendations).

A good friend of mine and fellow Porsche track enthusiast owns an Indy shop here in Orlando. His mechanic recently moved from the local dealer to work with him. Ask for Michael Colon.

If you're buying from a private seller, YES. Same goes for a non-Porsche dealer. If the seller is a Porsche dealer, see if they will CPO the car.

Thanks for the plug Mark. And the short answer is yes. With newer vehicles that are still under factory warranty, mechanical repairs are not as much of a real concern. But, cosmetic damage/repairs are another story, or mechanical abuse for that matter.
We fully inspect every aspect including specific paint meter results. You either find out something is an issue now, or possibly find out later when you go to sell and another purchaser requests a PPI.
I can tell you that we recently had another very low mileage 981 in with rear bodywork/bumper repaint found during a PPI.
Feel free to contact my partner Mike (colonmikec@aol.com) if we can help in any way, including setting up shipping if you decide to purchase this vehicle.

How much are you spending on the car? Probably over $50K? It's cheap insurance, do it, if for no other reason than to check for over-revs and physical damage.
