Hello everyone, I am slowly shopping around for a 981 boxster or a 997, and I came across an ad for a 2013 Boxster S manual with 84k miles on it. The price seems really reasonable (5-10k EUR less than the other S's but they are all low mileage). What would your thoughts be? Should there be any "old-car" issues already coming with such mileage? Especially for the engine? Would you expect the long term value to be significantly decreased in comparison with the current discount?
Thank you for your thoughts.

That's significant mileage on any car let alone a Porsche! That being said, if the car's been well maintained and is reasonably good cosmetically it might be worth pursuing. Two things I'd definitely want: 1) a complete maintenance record. and 2) a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified Porsche technician. Good luck to you.

Wow. That's is a lot of driving in a short time.
Agree with DBH regarding the ppi and maintenance records.
Regarding long term resale.. that depends on how many more miles you plan on putting on it.
think of what the value would be in a few years when you're well over 100 k.
Does the car have everything you want?

The ad claims that it was driven by some executive on german autobahns as a business(ish) car. What it also claims is that the car shows very little wear apart from the mileage figure. It is probably more a thought exercise than a real consideration. Here's the ad for those interested: http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat...205209935.html
Myself I'm looking at buying a weekend/roadtrip car so don't expect too many miles. I put some 50k over 6 years on my jag that I daily drove for a few years. Now I just walk to work and should have a work car by the end of the year. So 50k miles would probably not bother me much. 80+k seems a lot.
