Help with 981 knocking/popping noise?
Car has 7,000 miles and has made this knocking/popping noise since new.
Sounds like it's coming from the right rear area of the car. It makes the noise intermittently while upshifting, downshifting, over speed bumps, starting off from a dead stop. You cannot replicate the sound on demand (at the dealer), which makes it hard to find or isolate, but it's there every time I drive the car.

Find a section of road near the dealer where you can duplicate the noise and take SM or a tech for a ride or have one of them drive the car.
Have the car put on a lift and something loose checked for in that area. Heat seat. Exhaust.

I would check the exhaust hanging brackets and any connections to see if there are any cracks/breaks.
