Gentlemen, what are you hearing? This Fall? Early 2013? Enquiring minds need to know.

 

I've heard it's in November but have also heard right after the first of the year.

 

I've heard it will be introduced at the LA Auto Show (as the Cayman R was in 2010) in November.

That is probably more realistic. Similar to the 991, people are being told sometime after the 1st of the year and others are being more honest. I would assume April-May maybe before dealerships are delivering spec'd cars?

 

That timing matches the Cayman R experience, too - announced/displayed at the LA Auto Show, first cars delivered in March-April.

 

Thanks for the replies. I am contemplating a Cayman S European delivery so that may work for a late summer pickup. Although I am still undecided on this vs. a Cayman R. Also all contingent on selling the 993.

I saw this online and looks like it's the formal invite for the new Cayman to be introduced at the LA Auto Show.

 

So what's the over-under on the announce date for a 981 CaymanR ? Presumably not until well after the 991 GT3 ?

 

That just about solves the mystery as far as I'm concerned. Pretty pumped. Would it be offered in the same colours as the new Boxster or is there a chance for some variation?

 

If there is one, it will be at least 4 years.
