981S vs. 991
#5
My take is that if you equip a 981S with PDK and sport chrono, you will likely be as fast as a 991 in the 1/4. Add Sports Suspension and Porsche Torque Vectoring and the 981S will be competitive with a 991 on a road course. Also, it's incredible to me that Porsche Engineering has evolved the suspension on the 911 to the point where it outhandles a mid engined 981. No doubt about it the 991 is still one hell of a sports car, but the 981S is no longer a distant second to the 911.

What I take away is that Porsche will never let the current gen Boxster beat the current gen 911, doesn't matter if it's at the dragstrip or the track. The Spyder and Cayman R may be exceptions but I haven't checked the actual figures to confirm.
But this only matters to those who buy cars for bragging rights. On the street none of these figures matter.

nice video. It makes me feel better about the thought of dumping my barely driven 911 when my Boxster arrives. I will watch it over and over and over.
