Default AWE Wind Diffuser

I bought these because I have had issues with the headliner running HPDE with the windows down and thought they would help. For my car, the "simple, easy installation" involves disassembling the door. There is no way I am inclined to turn this into a major project. Has anyone actually done this? Removing side air bag cover and door panel X 2 to do both sides. Sheesh!

You have the hidden screw version, I guess? I went with a competitor (Anima Motorsports) and the install truly was super easy, although perhaps your setup requires door card removal no matter what.

That being said, these really did make a noticable difference in my Boxster, moving the air flow about 6 inches further behind me. Best wishes for your install.

Very much recommended. It made a big difference at high speeds. Installation was pretty easy on my 2016 and only took 10 minutes.

Yes, hidden screw version. This project will wait - maybe forever. Disappointed.

It’s really not too bad a job. The only trick is the cable for the door pull. If you can hold a screw driver you can do it. It takes about 10-15 minutes per side

Edit: Responded to the OP about the install.

I have the hidden screw version. You do not need to disconnect the airbag, but the door card does need to be partially removed. There is a Youtube video for this install. You essentially pull the card back from the front of the door but not removing it entirely. Your door is not 100% open and you hang it on your leg or placed something under the front to hold the door card.

I installed the Anima Motorsport Air Foil and I only had to remove the inner door triangle trim, but there are some YT videos on how to remove the door card; I followed Project 981's video. The video shows you have to remove 3 trim pieces and 4 bolts behind them, then you pull up on the card. The door also has these hooks on the inside that you could use to hang the card, if you don't need to remove it completely or while you remove/reconnect the door lock cable and connector. I used the inner door handle/pull to pull up on the card, I did not want to use the top edge of the door card to do it because it seemed that action could leave a gap between the top outer edge of the door and the side trim piece. Also, because these door cards are prone to delamination. I would say because of the door card removal, it will probably take you 30 minutes to do the second door. Good luck!

I second the Project 981 videos suggestion. He is very clear and thorough about the steps to remove trim.

The 981 is very easy to work on and parts fit back together nicely. I would not be afraid to dive into this and you will defintely notice a difference after the install.
