Hi all. I recently acquired a 981 GT4 and planning first track day with it. The car has RE-71RS, and I would like to know what pressures are recommended. Tires are relatively new, no noticeable wear. Thanks.

Post this question in the Performance and Driver's Ed Forum under Performance and Competition Areas. I run Hankook RS4s on a 2013 Boxster S with hot target of 34-36 normally starting at 26 depending on temps. Immediately check and adjust after each run. Add air at the end of the day or tires will be extremely low the next morning. Expect to P off your TPMS. It normally resets overnight if you air up at the end of the day.

What sizes? On 255/285 we generally run 30-31psi hot at both ends. They have a fairly large window of functional pressure, so some of it is just about feel.

I run the same tires on my track wheels for my GT4. At my last HPDE day seemed like about 32psi hot was a good pressure.

I ran RE-71R on 19" rims, 255/285 F/R, and starting at about 26 psi would end up at around 35 at end of 25 min session with even tire temps across the width of the tire once I got my camber dialed in.

I agree with okie981, I start around 25-26 cold. In my experience the RE71 have a narrow optimal operating temp. You ideally want to stay between 32-35 lbs hot. Anything outside of that and they start to fall off quickly. But they are excellent and do hold the temps well when you get them there.
