Wondering if I could get your thoughts on this 2015 981 Boxster GTS for those of you who following pricing in the 981 market. I don't know what I'm missing, but looks like the dealer can't move it. It appears to be in fairly good condition and comes with a 2-year CPO.
I've spent a long time looking for a 981 S... but it feels impossible to find the right spec with PASM, Sport Chrono, PSE, etc. and I thought I might as well just get the GTS because it comes standard with all of that (plus I like the body modifications).
Thoughts? Priced too high for the mileage and vehicle history (clean, but was a corporate fleet vehicle)?
I don't follow boxster prices but if it was a cayman that price would be maybe a little high but not unreasonable. For being reasonable mileage with pretty good options, and CPO it doesn't seem wildly expensive. My guess is a combination of a slightly high price and it's a convertible for sale while there's snow on the ground. Fleet vehicvle just means it was a lease.
Thanks guys, helpful to get some feedback. I don't feel like the price is too far off, but also not totally sure why it hasn't sold other than DPS being right about selling a convertible in the winter.
@jago Anything I should triple check given you have a similar build? any quirks to be on the lookout for that might not be abundantly obvious?
When you find the right car, ESPECIALLY a GTS, you should jump on it. I paid 70k for mine last summer, but it only had 8k miles. The body of flawless under the PPF, brand new tires, still under extended warranty, and it was local, so I jumped on it. Absolutely zero regrets.
Agree with the comments above. As a first owner of a '16 BGTS, I occasionally watch the market, and the price seems very reasonable for the year and mileage. I also agree that the color, wheels (and three previous owners) might be holding it back a bit, but it’s still a fantastic car

what about the wheels? Just because they are black? Aren’t they the 20in carrera wheels?
Also, all of this is really helpful guys. Very much appreciate all of the input. I welcome all critiques of this car so I know what experienced owners are looking at.
For me personally, I actually love the black on black on black… but I’m also early 30s. I did take a hard look at a blue on blue with Luxor Biege interior… it was sweet, but I lost the auction

you still need to do due diligence, but assuming all checks out…price looks good.
Service history has them replacing 2 tires and 1 tire. Check all four tires for the date code and obviously the tread. Same thing on the battery. Check the date code. Anything older than 5 years should be a negotiating point. Check the CPO rules on tires and battery age. The convertible top drains can be a major issue. Water gets inside the cabin floor and damages electronics. If this has been outside should be OK. Don't park under the trees. Check for the last major maintenance which should include spark plugs. Not an easy DIY and $$$. Does it have any PPF? Black looks nice when clean but a PIA to polish.
Some believe the 2015-16 Cayman and Boxster GTS are the best sport cars you can buy for the prices.
I'd make them a "winter convertible" offer. Research the internet sites for other GTS and prices. It's always worth a rode trip for the right car.
