Hi everyone
First post here. I just had my Cayman GTS 981 repainted to fix some stone chips and the bumper was removed as part of the process.
The paint job looks good overall, however I noticed there seems to be an unusual gap around the headlight washer. It's as though an o-ring or something is missing between the nozzle and the bumper. Please see attached photo. I'm wondering if the panel beater forgot to reinstall the part.
I'm hoping others here may be able to share a close up photo of your headlight washer to see if there is in fact an o-ring of sorts that seals the gap between the bumper and the nozzle.
I don't have my Cayman handy right now, but that doesn't look right; the base looks to be chipped. Here's an image of the headlight washer system shown in the PET. The part(s) you're concerned with are #11 & 12. I'd look to see if your body man put the pieces back together properly and intact.
I'll double check my car, but I'm fairly sure that the gap is supposed to be there. I think it only looks a bit weird because there's that little portion of paint clinging to the edge of the hole due to the respray (as opposed to just looking like a perfect circle).
It won't be a perfect tight fit because the headlight washer nozzle actually pops up further when it is activated. See this example video here.
EDIT: I just checked my car, and now I'm not so sure. Mine definitely has another separate layer between the black nozzle and the actual bumper. I've got a 2014 S.

Thank you both! The guys who worked on the car said all parts were reinstalled. They also checked with the local Porsche Centre who confirmed that there isn't an o-ring from factory.
Thanks for the yellow Cayman S photo! That little ledge on the inside seems to be the same as mine, except mine has a little bit of extra paint hanging over. The panel shop offered to clean it up, but I said I can do it myself with a hobby knife.
