Default 2016 spyder

Hello to the board..
2016 spyder cpo from local dealer…28k miles
asking 94k
Not to many out there to compare
Would appreciate any feedback about the purchase and would a 718 spyder be a better choice ?

thanks

If by some chance you like the 981 Spyder but favor the wheels on the newer car, there is now a solution. The 718 Cayman/Boxster Style Edition wheel is the same design as 718 GT4/Spyder but in the exact size and offsets as the factory 981 Spyder wheels. I know this because I have them on my 981 Cayman S.

Very similar but different cars.
I was at the same situation as you when I was about to buy my car.
If you are going to take the car to the track, the choice is clear, go for the 718 spyder.
If you are looking more for a better value holder, go for the 981. Only made in manual, 2486 units worldwide produced, better sound.

Car is definitely not going to be tracked …looking to enjoy it and not loose to much…

in that case I would go for the 981 spyder.
less units produced than the dakar. Only made in manual. Engine cheaper to maintain ( not gt, its a 911 engine).
The 718 has more power and the torque is more linear. Its a more modern car.
But in terms of enjoying a canyon road and hearing the roar of the engine I prefer the 981.

Uh, where can one find a set of these wheels without paying $8k for them? 😅

After some time, I would imagine Suncoast and others will probably offer them for the same price as the other wheels which is still by no means cheap.

I was in the same place earlier this year that you are now. I gave up my '22 BGTS 4.0 for a 981 Spyder because I wanted a great driver's car for the road (more than the track) with an incredible soundtrack. I've been enjoying it all season and have zero regrets, especially after updating the OEM head unit with CarPlay compatibility!

Hopefully not by a 3am dealer visit with a battery impact wrench and a van 😂
