Default 18" Street Tires

I have a set of 987 5 spoke wheels that I want to put a set of street tires on. They are 18x8 and 18x9. The selection of 235 45 R18 and 265 45 R18 looks pretty slim. What are 981 folks using on 18" wheels?

Hello, I am liking Conti Extreme Contact for 18" . I am using a 40 series though which will fit your wheel width. I have run a few pairs over the last 3 years and all in all they are good. I would not use them as a race tire, but they are a good all season.

Good luck

Highly, highly recommend a set of DWS06s unless you're in a southern climate and can actually make use of summer compounds. They're a summer-oriented all-season tire. Perfect for us up here in Minnesota.

I'm in the psuedo-south. We get snow a few times a year here but it isn't always on the ground.

It's less about the snow and more about the temperature range. Below about 60 I find that performance allseasons feel much, much better than summer tires.

Thank you for the follow up. I'll take a look. It does get cold here.

I live in NJ. I drive it in the cold and the rain. It is a very capable tire. I stay away from Summer tires lately. I don't know the exact speedo error using 40s, but it is not enough to be a concern.

Good luck.

Been using Michelin AS4s and AS3+ before that as my street tires on multiple cars. Don't see enough snow here in NC to need winter tires, but the temps get cold enough to need something tolerant to cold weather. I have super 200tw tires for when I want grip, but otherwise I stick with the AS4
