Default What is this code?

My 2013 Boxster S has just started running like 1 or more coils are shot and this code is appearing intermittently. Can't find it in the owners manual, anyone know what it means?

Battery first.

If you do coils, replace plugs at the same time. FCP Euro has several options for coils.

Battery should be good, I replaced it with OEM in 2020 with the original still going strong. I just did it for peace of mind. I also keep it on a tender.
I had the dealer do the plugs in 2019 for time duration, not mileage (29,000 miles) but I did not have them change out the coils which was maybe dumb. Right now the car is running with symptoms of what I imagine would be bad coils at 42,000 miles and 12 years of use. I think I am going to DIY plugs and coils and maybe add the heat shields. I now have a lift so it should make this PIA job a bit less painful. Anyone have any advice about the heat shields and their installation?
toma nova, I'll check FCP Euro for coils and plug sets

Hi Meteor.. Don't think that a 4 year old battery can't be going bad. Even if it is an oem. I change them out every 3 years. Regardless of how they appear to perform. Less expensive than a tow. Cheap insurance.

Good luck

Rich

the symbol means no start/stop which usually stops working if battery is weak. If you have coil issues, wouldn't you get misfires? get a scanner and check for codes and/or misfires!

I replaced my battery with a non-Porsche battery and also got that code. It just means your car won't Auto-Stop at lights to save gas. No biggie for me, I prefer my engine running anyways

An OBDII scanner will show bad coils as a miss-fire and tell you which cylinder(s) caused the fault.

I have always kept the auto stop/start button deactivated, never wanted to use this feature. I will get battery checked and get a scan done to see which cylinders are misfiring.
Thanks for all of your replies.
