Default Helix Subwoofer Enclousure

I installed Helix 10" Subwoofer enclosure that powered by MATCH 2.1 amp along with my current Helix V Eight amp. This enclosure fit very well in the small trunk space.

Worth it? I dont know yet, still experimenting with tuning, I crossed the sub HP 37 hz LP 55 hz. Because I have Helix 8" woofers in the doors and to avoid localization.

The problem with those cars are the road and engine noise, it drops the calrity of the sub , but so far its cleaner than playing two doors woofers only. But the question: is it worth spending around $1000 to play frequency range from 37 to 55 hz ?

and for those whom they have subs in their cars, what are the crossover frequency points in their system that produce the best bass frequency?

I set my Erisin ES8559C unit sub frequency to 50 Hz max and my Alpine V amp LPF to 63 Hz powering 2 JL Audio CP106LG-W3V3 ported micro subwoofers, one behind passenger seat and one in the trunk. I played test tones and the JL Audio can go as low as 30 Hz without distortion and losing too much volume.

Interesting! You havd 2 subs instead of one. I am sure they sound and perform better than one 10" ported sub which I have. I am trying to experiment with different LP, HP, filters, slopes etc. because I haven't owned a sub before...trying to achive decent lows without road and engine noise interference, I dont know if this can be done with my setup or not.

I should try test tune to see how low it can go, its a good idea

What are your front woofer speakers ? and did you set their HP to 50 hz ?

still have the stock door woofers coming from basic CDR31 only. I set HP at 80 Hz. The Erisin sounds a lot better than OEM and has equalizer to fine tune your musical liking. Agree that 2 subs in 2 different locations are better than a single sub.
My set up gives me the flexibility to partially use the trunk or fully if needed as I can move the sub behind the driver seat.
I also use a frequency analyzer app to help me tune it.

Typo mistake on HP filter to door woofers. Should be 60 Hz and not 80.

some people suggest HP 25 hz , I am not sure if that will damage the sub or not.

Depending on cone size, design and quality, Subwoofers can handle 25 Hz but not for door woofers that is why I set my high pass to 80Hz (will play 80 Hz and above only) on my door woofers to be safe & lower distortion.
