Default Sports Plus Question

Hi all
sorry this may be a daft question regarding Sports Plus
I have had the car a few months now and today i decided to pluck up the courage to put it in Sprts Plus and take it for a spin
my quesion is when should it change gear
If i put it in sports mode it turns off auto start/stop and changes gear (PDK) at slightligh highrrer revs
when i put i in sports plus it got to nearly 9k revs but still stayed in 1st, should it not have changed to second by then.
I panicked and manulally changed it to second from the paddles

am i missing somthing ?
thanks

Your Sport+ has the original programming.

In automatic mode, Sport+ will not shift until you hit redline, that's normal and expected.

If you decide to get the recall software update done Sport+ will be much more streetable and shift in automatic mode dependent on your throttle position and current speed.

It also locks out 7th gear regardless of if you have to original programming or the revised programming.

Even with the new programming, I find Sport is better suited for the street and I reserve Sport Plus for the track. 7k+ RPMs on the way to the grocery store is a bit much for me.

I find that Sport+ with the revised tuning will shift under 5k rpm at partial throttle.

I was surprised how aggressive sport + was. Definitely not meant for regular street driving.

I drive mine in sports+ when I feel in the mood (normally on weekends)… I actually think the car’s dynamics feel better when the car is in that mode… but I do the shifting myself via the paddles, otherwise it’s way too harsh with the shift points as others have said…

In the meanwhile before you get the revised tuning, the car will not hurt itself in Sports +. The PDK is very 'smart'. It sounds like the original programming is best left to the track.
