Default PDK Calibration Advice from Jeff R.

Calibration with part replace (long calibration)
a. TCU reprogrammed
b. Pressure sensor calibrated
c. Shift rod calibration
d. Hydraulic teach in (prone to failure!)
e. Clutch pack calibration

If you start the long cal, it must be completed successfully before the transmission will work in any way!
Tips for successful long cal:
Oil fill procedure to prime system
Don't delay once temp gets over 60C
If it fails allow to cool and then attempt again.

Calibration without part replace (short calibration)
c. Shift rod calibration
e. Clutch pack calibration

Jeff's recommendations:
Speed sensor replace: no calibration
Distance sensor replace: short calibration
Clutch pack: short calibration

Valve body, pressure sensor, complete transmission: long calibration

Calibration to improve shifts? Not worth it per Jeff as shifts normally revert to how they were after it gathers adaptions.

Only time he considers a short cal is if after fluid change and shifts are poor after.
