Curious to know if this is one of those normal "porsche smells" I keep hearing about, or something I should get looked into.
Have a 981 GT4 with higher mileage. I can confirm it does have a small exhaust leak where the header meets the muffler, so this whole issue could just be that, however, whenever I accelerate hard, with the window down only, I get a bit of a burning type smell which goes away quickly. If I drive calmly, shifting around 3.5k, taking it easy, no smell at all, if I bang thru the gears revving it out, I get the smell.
It is 100% not burning clutch, I am familiar with what that smell like, and this ain't it.
The car does have an unknown cobb tune on it which I am planning on swapping for a Softronics tune.
You all think this is something I should get checked out, or get the exhaust leak fixed first and go from there? The reason I've been putting off fixing the exhaust leak is because I may do a SOUL exhaust anyway.
First fix the exhaust leak. When driven hard the exhaust and the rotors/pads get very hot. Any accumulated road grime, tire rubber, dust, etc. will bake off and smell.
