Default Clutch/flywheel compatibility

My cayman S is ready for a new clutch, and I can only imagine it'll need a flywheel too. Is there any reason I can't or shouldn't use the GT4 parts as a slight upgrade? Prices are pretty comparable and based on aftermarket options it seems like it should be a direct fit, but I haven't found anything that specifically says that's the case.

Is the GT4 flywheel lighter weight?

the GT4 flywheel is 26lbs but I can't find anything on the oem S flywheel weight.

I'd probably purchase this for your application- https://www.fvd.net/us-en/FVD1140120...lbs-78-kg.html

That's my other question, what exactly the flywheel difference is. Both are dual mas so I doubt there's a noteworthy weight difference. I'm assuming that the damping is different (or possibly some geometry difference such that it wouldn't fit but I doubt that's the case).

I've considered a lightweight flywheel but ultimately don't want to go down that path for a few reasons.

Honestly if the GT4 flywheel isn't going to save you any weight, I wouldn't bother and would just get OEM. I've had lightweight flywheels in other vehicles and they never bothered me. Why wouldn't you consider one?

Like I said in the original post, the price is basically the same either way so unless there's some reason it won't work I'm not really seeing a downside to the gt4 version.

Serious question...What's the upside to using the GT4 version?

Maybe I phrased the original question a bit poorly but that's basically what I'm asking. What's the difference between the two?

It's worth about 5 HP on a 2.7L at Cars N Coffee conversations.

Is the price the same? Downside would be theres no difference but it costs more because it says GT4.

Compared to the standard flywheel? I don't think anyone who's viewed this thread knows. BBI weighed the GT4 flywheel and it shows 26 lbs. I've read the GT3's fw is about 28. I haven't seen a standard cayman flywheel weight yet. I'd be surprised if it's noticeably different than either of the GT car's weights.
All of the oem are dual mass. Aftermarket saves weight by going to a single mass. That's also why I doubt the GT4 version is any lighter than the cayman's.

Sharkwerks sells a lightweight clutch kit compatible with all 981’s, they don’t mention the GT4 being any different from the rest
