Don't believe the OP said that nor does the EU or Germany preclude you using non-Porsche brake pads. What he said he can't use Girodisc or similar upgrades which is why he was looking at the GT4 and other Porsche models to possibly upgrade his brakes.

There are no 3rd party legal calipers (for 981) available here. Pads are less an issue as you can get the RSL29 approved but its an extensive process. I got the CUP2 245/275, RSL29, GT4 brake duct, PFC665 but heat at pads and disks is still an issue (eg. at Bilster Berg or Nürburgring GP, trackdays here are usually 4-6x 30-45min). The usual upgrade path for others i meet on track were the GTS 4.0 brakes as well. But does anyone know why the GT (981/982) would not work?

So spoke to my motorsport partner and they advised to use the 718S brakes with 350/34mm discs to replace the 330/28mm. The capilers are still 4 piston but the caliper is larger.

Those calipers are cheap (used) and discs affordable (compared to 380mm). Tüv (street approval) can be received so will go with this. Nevertheless, i reached to Girodisc in Germany and they confirmed that they offer no support/documents to get their brakes allowed.

I upgraded our car to 991 GTS 6 piston front calipers and 350mm rotors up front and Gt4 rear calipers with 350mm rotors. The fronts are also a wider rotor by 2mm IIRC. You will need IIRC 12mm spacers in the rear for this upgrade.

Did a nice job but still not GT4 brakes. FYI you will need to upgrade your master cylinder and vacuum canister from a GT3. That in itself makes a huge improvement. With a proper alignment these will stop the car solidly with no hands on the wheel from 60 mph.

Stock caliper top 992 unit below

Lower pad is 992 vs stock middle and old big red top.

stock sized rears vs Gt4 with 350mm rotor.

991 up front

Are those GT4 rear calipers, or 996 Turbo rear calipers?
