Hi everyone,
I have a 2014 981 cayman with about 88k miles, recently I've started to notice that almost everytime Im parking when i press on the brakes it makes a slight clunk or thud usually when reversing into my garage. this happens regardless of when Im in full lock or straightened up so Im reluctant to say that its the ackerman effect. The brakes are quite worn tho and is due to be changed soon could that be the reason?
thanks

I don't know what the ackerman effect is, but I suspect what you are hearing is the brake pads shifting position in the calipers. With that may miles, the pads and spring tensioners are worn and not able to hold position when shifting direction and using the brakes. Time for a brake job!

Pads shifting in the calipers. Its fairly common especially with non-OEM pads. Weakened retaining springs could be contributing to the shift. DIYing your own brakes is fairly easy and a big savings. Many YouTubes.
