Default Heater core pipes hot

Hi 2016 cayman base. While hiding some wires under dashboard i noticed the heater core pipes were real hot. AC and heat work well but wondering if pipes being hot is normal or an issue. Thanks in advance for the help.

Its going to be normal with running the car and working in that area after the car was ran for a bit to get the coolant hot. Some cars have shut off valves in the line to the heater core loop to only allow coolant into the heater core when you request heat. But that is a potential failure point where the valve is normally vacuum controlled and could fail. The normal operation of most HVAC systems in cars the air flows through the evaporator first then depending on if you have hot or cold selected is how much the air bypasses the heater core.

Thanks Chaos2984. I had also checked with a Porsche Tech yesterday and he said the same. Totally normal. Cheers.
