Default 981 "mild" Drop (H&R VTF)

Has anyone tried these? Looking for a little drop(less then 20mm) and my tech guy says these might be a good move. Car only has 22k(non PASM), might be the way to go as the shocks still have some life left...thoughts?

Spirited driving, 1-2 track days a year.

Thanks.

What is your budget? If you use the car for spirited driving then lowering springs might not be the right option for you.

3-4k. On the fence with coilovers. I know it would be alot sportier, but don't want to get anxious every time I go over a speed bump. Something like a PASM drop is what I had in mind.

I personally have used Ohlins (60/70 N/mm springs) for the past +40k miles without having to change my driving style around speed bumps. Assuming you have a base/S model the angle of attack on the front bumper is quite forgiving. I have it set right in the middle of Ohlin's recommended range, which gives you a ~20mm drop from stock. You can adjust +/- 15mm so theoretically you could get it very close to stock height if you're concerned with scraping. I know the OEM sport suspension option (X73) is a good option too but its a non-adjustable 20mm drop. Its also backordered everywhere.

Just giving you some data points! But I would suspect if you lower the car with lowering springs without adjusting the spring rates and damping accordingly you'll make your car more prone to scraping than with coilovers.

Cool, good perspective. I'll probably pull the trigger on the Ohlins.Thanks.

Let me start off by saying I have been very happy with my H&R setup.
I have only scraped once and it was coming out of my driveway (high sided) so completely my fault. It is however not what most here would consider mild. Also they got lazy on us… It’s only adjustable in the front because that carried over from the 911. Rear is fixed height. I have mine setup .5in up in the front bc of my driveway. Not really noticeable unless you are looking for it.

I'm very satisfied with the ride and handling of my 981 with the Eibach springs on stock shocks - I may go with some coilovers at some point but TBH for the street, its a fantastic setup.

That looks like a modest drop with the Eibach - I think it looks great. I think they look too low with the 20mm+ drop especially with stock wheel widths and offsets. The wheels begin to look too sucked into the car. I'm happy with the way mine sits and can't imagine lowering it. I do want some Carrera S wheels though.

my 981 had the X73 and I loved the look and feel...when i got my base 718 I wanted that look and feel and went with the H&R Sport springs

I was nervous at first about losing the ride quality of the OEM set up, but was instantly relieved once I drove it as it was very similar to the X73 feel.

I highly recommend finding a highly qualified shop to do the install...it makes a difference
