Default Quick TPMS questio

The search function didn’t return much, but I’m sure I’m not the first person with this question.

Can I simply remove the TPMS sensors from my stock wheels and put them on my track wheels?

Do they need to stay on the same corner of the car when transferred?

Can I then simply run my stock wheels without sensors without issue?

Thanks in advance

The valve and TPMS are one unit. You have to dismount the tire to remove the sensor, but would need a valve at minimum to remount. TPMS.COM is a popular source.

Yes, they can be removed and installed on another set of wheels, but why? You can buy another set of sensors for what it would cost to switch.

You should put the TPMS into learn mode. Pick the diameter of the track wheels.

You can run wheels without sensors but you will get a TMPS error. PIWIS or similar tools can turn off TPMS.

Many run their track wheels without sensors. Checking your tire pressures at the beginning and end of each run is the norm. I use my TPMS to tell when my tires are warm enough and too hot/high pressure.

Yep, I’ve been checking tire pressures before and after sessions for years. Thought it would be really nice if I could look at my tire pressures on my cool down lap with the touch of a button. Also to check them at the beginning the same way. Assuming the readings are accurate.

Thanks for the source I’ll check it out.
