Ticking during cold start

Hey Guys/Gals,

I'm sure this subject has already been discussed, but couldn't find the thread. Anything definitive on what this ticking is coming from?

There are multiple threads, depending on the tick, could be anythung from injectors, lifters, loose header bolts. In most cases, it's normal sound, and dealer will find no issue:

My '14 Cayman Base does the same thing and has done so since the day I purchased it. I've was told early-on by my indie shop and a top notch dealership that, in my car's case, it is injector noise. I believe that noises from lifters and various exhaust leaks tend to persist past warm-up, while the normal injector noise tends to "settle down" pretty quickly.

Thanks so much Terry,

Even though no one had mentioned injectors, that was my impression. I know the injectors are under very high pressure on these DFI engines. Had to think that was the culprit.
