I replaced the Michelin PS4S on my 981 Cayman S last month with AS4 tires. They have been fantastic. I can do backroads at speed in well-below-freezing weather.

Today I'm doing the same on the GT3:

Yes, I like to drive in freezing weather. 😁

Got the new extreme contact sport 02 put on. Forgot what it was like to have new tires. Bumps/road imperfections feel softer.
Let's see how many miles I can get out of them.

Switching to the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 for your Porsche 981 is a reasonable choice. These tires offer a balance between performance and longevity. The improved treadwear and mileage warranty compared to the Continental ExtremeContact Sport should provide better durability, especially for highway driving.
While the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is known for its exceptional performance, these tires here https://www.corwheels.com/best-miche...-season-tires/ will still deliver adequate handling and grip for your driving needs. Since you don't frequently encounter freezing conditions, all-season tires are a practical choice, eliminating the need for seasonal swaps and providing confidence during occasional wet weather.

contis are softer than Michelin AS4. I like them for my summers on my daily as the grip is good but they are more comfortable. In the winter I go to AS4 and I feel more bumps.

Ive now put on 4k miles over 8 months on the AS4. They are a decent compromise. The prior ps4s had noticeably sharper, crisper handling and better warm weather grip. But for my needs as a daily driver, the AS4 is more comfortable, probably has much better wear, and most importantly to me, less hassle from having to change my wheels each winter. If my cayman was my only sports car I’d probably still change wheels each winter since I definitely get more enjoyment out of the car with the ps4s
