I have a Boxster not a Cayman, but I'm often surprised by just how quiet the road noise is in the car. I agree with the others to try tires, and perhaps you can dynamat the hatch area to help further?

I switched to Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 from 4+yr old PS4S and road noise was noticably quieter after. Sacrificed slightly on dry turn-in but it's been a great tire for the road conditions around me. I haven't ran Pilot sport A/S so I can't share how those compare.
