Default Excessive inner tire wear

I switched out my summer wheels for winters, and was shocked to see my front inner tread down to threads. I had not noticed it looking from the outside, even with wheel turned. Rears treads looked good, evenly worn.

I had stock alignment done when these Michelin ps4s were first mounted. Don’t know if potholes gave me some toe misalignment. I’m planning to get new all seasons mounted soon, will get another alignment and see.

Just a reminder to always check the inside treads!

Yowza. I don't think that's toe, toe would be across the tread. Probably excess camber, but it seems like you'd need to be way out of spec to have it wear that bad. It's not like, rubbing on any suspension components or anything, is it?

How many miles? My rears are the ones that go first, inside especially.

Car drives great, no rubbing as far as I can tell. My initial guess is that the potholes knocked out alignment, but it would be a weird coincidence since it looks like both wheels have wear in the same spots. Or maybe something worn/loose in the suspension?

Hard to know for sure since I split miles between summer and winter sets, but I would guesstimate 25k miles. Mostly low key daily driving. I would have guessed my rears would go first too, but they looked great

Yes indeed. We were bleeding the brakes on my son's GTI recently and his tires looked the same. So glad we caught it while NOT in motion! Did you get the alignment dialed in? Way out of spec?

It would be interesting to see the numbers for the alignment done when those tires where installed…

Was the car aligned to the correct specs?

Uneven toes do that to the front tires. The pic is after 43K miles on my daily this past summer. The toes were all over the place while the cambers were within the specs.

I had them aligned to factory specs at a respected independent, but don’t have the spec sheet from them. I’m planning to get my new tires installed and alignment next month, will post update after

checj your toe. You may need to reduce it. they also look like they’ve been over inflated.
