OP: how is the ventilation function holding up? I'm looking for options to reupholster my 991.2 seats with pepita/houndstooth but dont want to loose the ventilation function.

Not yet. Family health issues among other things got in the way.

Cloth inserts whether in a Porsche, or any other car, often look great. This one in particular is such a nice departure from leather despite the fact that it's not PCA-regulation Pepita. I've often wondered why the American market (no matter the brand) is destined to receive only seats made entirely of leather (or cheap vinyl looking like leather). In watchng videos from other countries (especially Europe), the same cars have interiors of cloth or cloth inserts. Yes, I know that we have to worry about kids and pets damaging the fabric interiors, but not everyone has that concern. Moreover, fabric surfaces work well on cold winter and hot summer days. I had the chance to special order cloth interiors in two Volvo wagons and they were the most comfortable seats I've ever owned. With the latest trend of going away from real leather and switching to some plastic material (with catchy trade names other than vinyl), why don't US buyers get a shot at some of those fabric seats available in Europe? If one has to sit on plastic anyway, why not have cloth a choice?
